Fire forces evacuation of Stokesdale plant NEW
[5/1/2008] - STOKESDALE - A fire forced the evacuation of a Stokesdale fabric plant this afternoon.
Around 4:30 p.m., fire crews responded to Culp Ticking at 7209 U.S. 158 in Stokesdale to find smoke billowing out of the building.
A machine inside the building had caught fire, but was almost immediately extinguished by a sprinkler system, Stokesdale Fire Chief Todd Gauldin said.
